3 weeks vacation, 4-6 holidays, one extra half day each month for PGY -3 residents


Year 1 Benefits

Residents are eligible to participate in the CJW paid time off (PTO) program immediately upon employment. The PTO policy consolidates time for vacation, holidays, sickness, personal time and bereavement. It is designed to allow flexibility and self-determination in utilizing paid time away from the hospital. PTO is accrued at the rate 7.076 hours per pay period (23 days per year).


Other Benefits:

  • Insurance: Malpractice and life insurance provided by CJW. The major portion of the premium for medical and dental insurance is paid for the resident by CJW. Dependents may be added at extra cost.
  • Company paid Short Term Disability Program which will reimburse you 60% of pay

Year 2 & 3 Benefits

Chesterfield Family Practice provides malpractice, life and health insurance for residents. Basic benefits are covered for you and your family. Enhanced benefits are available at some extra cost.


Other Benefits:

  • Three weeks vacation, 6 holidays and one week off for conference time are allowed in each of years two and three.
  • Salary is adjusted annually and will be discussed during the interview.
  • A Residency Fund exists to supplement educational expenses such as books, equipment, conferences and Board Certification Exams.
  • Chesterfield Family Practice covers the cost of the Virginia Medical License and the Federal DEA License for each resident.
  • Meals and snacks are provided at no cost at both hospital campuses.
